The Colour Box is situated in a bright and wonderfully
spacious building with outside space. Staff members
are experienced and Montessori trained, welcoming
children from 2-5 years of age.
A rich curriculum that changes form and shape to meet your children’s learning style and needs. We say goodbye to rigid, boring planning that leaves the children on themargin and we say welcome to vibrant, flexible and inspiring teaching.
Forming strong relationships with our parents. We are parents, we understand what it means to trust your child to a stranger,we understand your anxiety, your fears, your efforts, and we are here to support you, listen to you, understand and whenever possible guide you. You are a part of our team, not an observant.
This is of great importance to us and everything we plan for the children aims towards that. When children form strong relationships and secure attachments,they are confident to explore and put their ideas to the test, ready to learn, have fun, try, fail, try and achieve. But most of all, we want them to enjoy and have fun in everything they do. The rest comes naturally.
We invest in our teacher’s training so they can fully understand and know how to implement learning in a safe premises, risks assessment, a fully trained Designated Safeguarding Officer, daily checks, policies and procedures in place, robust recruitment process and enhanced DBS checks are some of the things we have implemented to secure our nursery. We do take it seriously.
It is not just another job. It is demanding and challenging and requires expertise, patience, passion and the drive to make a difference in children’s lives.
We reflect on our practise, discuss our next steps, observe and learn from our children, laugh and play with them, get messy, read stories changing our voice, sing like Julie Andrews and fight fires like fire-fighters daily. Not everyone is suitable to do the job. We are grateful we can do what we love and hopefully make a difference in our children’s lives. They definitely make a difference in ours.
